Rebranding a global IT solutions company

Brief

BilgeAdam Technologies, Turkey’s leading IT solutions company, has grown rapidly to become a competitor to some of the world’s best known software services groups, with a strong reputation for innovative software development, professional IT consulting and training.

With a growth plan to target more Anglo-Saxon corporations and growing its London and US offices, BilgeAdam’s leadership team was aware that their name – which in Turkish means ‘Wise Man’ – didn’t work well in English. Nucleus was approached to create a meaningful new name that would position the business as an international leader, while providing a link with the company’s Turkish roots.

Solution

As the name was key to the rebranding, we explored numerous themes, before landing on the acronym ‘BGTS’, which combined the desired link with the past ‘BilgeAdam Global Technology Services’ with a highly distinctive and succinct name, with undertones of performance implied in the ‘GTS’ suffix. This short name clearly differentiates the company in a crowded and highly competitive sector, especially as we were able to acquire the four-letter dot com domain, which adds considerable authority for a tech company.

Once the name was agreed, the dot.com domain was acquired using our 'stealth' domain negotiation process and trade marks applied for, we moved on to creating the visual brand identity create the brand identity. The chosen solution features the four letters in a contemporary customised sans serif font style, along with a ‘pixels’ symbol which form the ‘b’ and ‘g’ shapes – creating a further bond with the client’s heritage, but interpreted in a contemporary, appropriately digital, graphic form.

Results

The new brand was launched in January 2025 and has been well received within the business. It is being implemented across all the company’s global communications and bgts.com website.
