The Connaught re-opens with a standard-setting new website

18 February 2008

For well over a hundred years the Connaught has celebrated the good fortune of its priceless location, on the corner of Carlos Place and Mount Street. Today, the finely-tuned restoration has resulted in a discreetly grand experience and the ultimate London stay for connoisseurs of luxury. The new website accurately communicates the unforgettable blend of original features and contemporary art and style.

With many years’ experience designing award-winning hotel websites, Nucleus wanted to create an understated and beautiful online experience for the Connaught - the most discreet luxury hotel in London.

Nucleus therefore designed and created a clean, elegant and simple-to-use website, integrating all-new photography (art directed by Nucleus) with a new technical platform based on an Ektron 400 CMS content management system.

Sophie Marchant, the travel editor of Luxury Explorer, known for her emotive and poetic observations of travelling the world in luxury, was commissioned to write the copy from first hand observation of the remarkable restoration. Mike Bonner, Maybourne Hotel Group’s Marketing Director, commented “Nucleus has produced a beautifully simple and elegant website that really communicates the magic of staying at the Connaught, which we are sure will appeal both to the discerning eye of the traditional Connaught guest, and to a younger, design-literate audience.”
