Brief

The PSD Group is a leading international executive and management recruitment group. PSD covers a range of industry sectors, whilst Portfolio specialises in leisure and hospitality. Nucleus was appointed to review the digital strategy for both businesses and to propose an overhaul of their online presence.

Solution

We understood that the functional specification of the websites was crucial to their success. Foremost amongst the key elements was the requirement for a candidate to register, search rapidly for new jobs – using different combinations of search criteria – and then receive job alerts or submit a CV online. This required a significant development stage, employing customised code to achieve the required stability and accuracy of both search and response.

Given the complexities of the technical platform, we proposed joint templates and back-end integration for both PSD and Portfolio to ensure the most cost-effective solution. In addition, we considered next-stage user requirements – including social media, blogs and compliance with smartphone technology.

Results

The two sites launched together, and soon proved to be robust commercial assets within a recessionary cycle that tested the capability of all companies within the recruitment sector. The business also streamlined internal processes within all its global offices, including IT, sales and marketing, to ensure that the digital channel was fully supported.
