We give the mobile luxury treatment to London’s latest and greatest spa

Brief

ESPA Life is a stunning new luxury spa, occupying four floors and over 2,500 sq ft of space at the new Corinthia Hotel in Whitehall, London. It brings together an unrivalled team of the world’s top professionals to offer fitness, nutrition, complementary healthcare and luxury spa treatments for face and body, plus a Daniel Galvin salon.

Nucleus was commissioned to design a new website to bring this unique proposition to life and suggested creating a single website that delivered a great user experience across laptops, tablets and smart phones.

Solution

With a new, converging digital landscape emerging, ESPA Life’s website was designed to be experienced across multiple devices to cater for the rapidly growing audience who now browse websites – especially luxury brand websites – using mobile devices. This often nomadic audience increasingly eschews desk-bound working in favour of browsing on the move, so Nucleus’ cutting edge design ‘sniffs out’ which device is being used and presents the same design tuned to each screen format.

Specially commissioned supersize images fill the screen and are cropped and presented differently when you tilt your iPad or iPhone, to ensure a perfect user experience.

Results

With mobile traffic to all websites growing rapidly, the launch of ESPA Life at Corinthia London captured the mood of the moment, immediately receiving many accolades when launched in late October 2011.

“Nucleus has once again delivered a cutting-edge design for Corinthia, following the highly successful and award-winning Corinthia.com website. The Nucleus team has now brought our stunning Spa to life online and ensured our clients can enjoy the amazing experience from their prefered mobile devices.”

Brian Pratt, Senior Vice President of Corinthia Hotels
